" Marquise "
" Nebula "
A nebula is an interstellar of dust, hydrogen, helium and other ionized gases. Originally, the word "nebula" referred to almost any extended astronomical object (other than planets and comets). The etymological root of "nebula" means "cloud". As is usual in astronomy, the old terminology survives in modern usage in sometimes confusing ways. We sometimes use the word "nebula" to refer to galaxies, various types of star clusters and various kinds of interstellar dust/gas clouds.
This particular tie was created using the feathers from grey peacock as well as dyed turkey with silk floss and gold tinsels surrounding the body of a 7/0 blind eye hook.

"Remembrance"
Remembrance was created to showcase the history of Gettysburg. Fought during the first three days of July 1863, the Battle of Gettysburg was one of the most crucial battles of the Civil War. In a short time span of only three days, over 51,000 lives were lost in what became the bloodiest battles of the North/South conflict. The imagery that I used for the background was digitally altered from photographic shots I took over the years of visiting this special place. The statue is that of General G.K. Warren overlooking the fields below Little Roundtop where many lives were lost. The sky to the west is filled with the remembrance of those who perished.
Remembrance is tied in four body segments using fine silk floss ribbed with gold tinsels and wire. The third segment is a feather body using the rare feather called jungle cock. The wings are married turkey and Kori Bustard of which are topped with Golden Pheasant crest. It is tied on a 6/0 blind eye Harrison Bartleet hook.

"Angelfire"
This tie was created to memorialize and honor our brave men and women who volunteer their time to protect us from fire. This is tied with gold tinsel and fine wire along with silk floss for the body. The wings which are staggered throughout are dyed turkey and goose.
"Courage"
"Courage" was designed to honor our courageous military personnel who sacrificed so much in the line of duty to give us all the freedoms that we enjoy on a daily basis. Patterned to mimic the Purple Heart medal, the loops are created by forming the heart with purple ostrich herl of which is topped with golden pheasant crests. The body is divided into three segments of red, white, and blue - ribbed with tinsels and wire.
"Jessee's Fury"
This fly was created using my labrador retriever as my inspiration. She loves to go into my tying den and sniff at all the materials - sneaking out every now and then with a feather in her mouth when she finds one within her reach. This is tied with Jungle Cock nail feathers on the main body, dyed goose shoulder for the wings and dyed black golden pheasant crests for the toppings.
"Marilyn"
This fly was designed to reflect this historical image of Marilyn Monroe. A 3 dimensional tie - it incorporates various singular lays of dyed white goose shoulder, golden pheasant crest for the under and over toppings, and silk floss along with fine silver tinsel and wire for the body segments.
"Sunrise"
Sunrise is a full feather tie using paired macaw parrot coverts for the main wing, speckled neck feathers from vulturine guinea, and finally topped with paired coverts from the grey peacock pheasant. The body is laced with fine silk and topped with gold tinsels.
"Flower"
"Flower" is a compilation of 6 wet flies of which are connected together at the eye and fastened to a green stem. The buds are then created by marrying two different segments of dyed turkey and topped with golden pheasant crestings.
